Steroids and PED’s

I thought with all the rumblings about Tiger Woods answering questions about PED;s (performance enhancing drugs) and Mark McGwire working with the Cardinals this might be a good topic. I did this cartoon for Metro North Newspapers a group in Denver that represents 8 different local papers. I do one a week for them on a variety of high school sports topics. Check out their website here at great8newspapers or better yet pick up or subscribe to one of their great papers, like the Golden Transcript, Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel, Lakewood Sentinel, Arvada Press, Wheat Ridge Transcript and the Westminster Window.     Keep the quips and quotes. They sometimes make me think, sometimes make me smile and sometimes they encourage me to do both.

    the money to be made in sports is too large, the risks are not understood and the desire to not be just another face in the crowd is so overwhelming. People just aren’t satisfied with living a life that is just a little better than their parents.

    People want it all, and they want it now. they will take all kinds of risks to achieve the “fame” they seek.

    As the school teacher in the house says, there is good attention and bad attention, and kids don’t care which kind they get, as long as they get some attention.

    Hence the use of PED and other things to help the 5’7′ kid get to 6’3″.

    The price of tea in china… its up just a bit.

    Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.
