Tiger Woods: On the Bubble & ESPN Cartoon on Duke-Butler

Uncategorized

I survived yesterday in sports…Now where’s the t-shirt?

I don’t know if you feel that way but I know I do. Wow. The Duke-Butler Championship game was beyond amazing. It reminds me why I love sports so much, when an underdog can give a heavyweight all it wants and more. Too bad Butler didn’t pull it out.

But I love the lesson it teaches us all. Anything is possible. Don’t quit. And don’t let anyone tell you you aren’t good enough.

Great to see a Rockies win on opening day. Friday should be fun here at home. This might be the first opening day I don’t make it to. My Fridays have become pretty busy. How about you ? Anybody score tickets? Tell me, tell me.

Clearly this will be a week about Tiger. I only caught highlights of his press conference yesterday but what I saw I was very impressed by. He seemed genuinely contrite. Now comes walking the walk, not just talking the talk. The rest of Tiger’s week will be in a very controlled environment media wise. Hence, the cartoon.

Got a new cartoon on the Butler-Duke game over on ESPN.. Hopefully it will be posted by the time you see this.

Hope you have a great day!

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

You’re right, yesterday was quite the day in sports. the ball game, Duke and Butler, was great. I didn’t figure that game would be that close. the butler coach is very young.(33) With a little luck he will be back and this time win it all, but butler won’t be sneaking up on anyone EVER again. He is just that good of a coach.

I didn’t see tiger’s press conference. I hope he has his life together, but I doubt it.

The other day I saw a poll- John Edwards, Tiger, and Jesse James are all drowing. You can only save one- Eho do you save? Most of the women I talked to about this said let the all drown!!!! rather telling isn’t it!

The rockies won, the Royal lost ( 8-4) grienke pitched great, gave up only one earned run but the bullpen did what they did all of last year and blew it up. When Zach;s contract is up you rockie fans better hope he lands in Denver.

All is right in baseball heaven.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene

  2. Now this is a great Tiger Woods cartoon! Totally captures the man’s nasty attitude about other people. No respect or concern for anyone.

  3. Hi Guys,

Great Butler effort last night. Too bad it came up short. Gene, I keep hoping those Royals will turn it around for you. Grienke is a great pitcher, I just don’t think the Rocks would spring for the expense.

Sherrie, glad you like the Tiger toon. It went through several incarnations before it ended up with the “attitude”. It finally came out in the final mix and I think it does display his true feelings about it all. Today I’m finishing up some taxes and working away on a few toons. Not much for blustery days.

  4. I’m thinking about taking the quips and quotes off of the site. They never seem to convey how I view the world. I was looking for Yogisms but couldn’t find any as a plug-in. Groucho quotes would be fun too.

  5. After one of the worst basketball championships ever played by the two worst contenders ever produced, well here is the reality of the whole thing. Both Duke and Butler both shot under 45% for the game, both were under 34% percent for three point attempts and so on and so on. To make a bad story even worse was Jennifer Hudson singing “One Shining Moment” at the end. Well you can win them all every year….

On another note somthing interesting came up in the whole Tiger Woods interview yesterday. Performance enhancing drugs! What a big suprise. Federal agents questioning Tiger, and that busted up lip. I wonder if this is the only place Tiger will play this year? Because more and more questions are going to come out of this. What is going to become of this PED story Drew? Curious minds want to know?

  6. Love the ESPN cartoon today! I love that it was a close add competitive game. Wonder if Stanford will be able to hang with UConn tonight? Thanks for routing me over, gave me a chance to read Reily’s comment on the Donovan McNabb trade.
