The End is Near!

The season can’t be almost over already. I don’t know about you but the worst funk of the winter for me is always right after the Super Bowl. I don’t ski, it’s still cold outside and there isn’t any football left. Now if they played those lousy bowl games we have to endure in December in February they might be on to something.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

I have made a deal with myself about the foot ball season being over.

The old big screen will be home to HGTV and devine design et. al. I wont raise a fuss about something else being on as long as we can go to the mall and walk for an hour on saturday and sunday afternoons, I am fine.

I have really never caught on to college b.b. or the NBA. It doesn’t even get my attention on sports center.

Now once it gets warmer, a relative term, out I’ll go.

The big screen was great for football but it really allows those “devine” colors and fixtures the come through.

Keeping everyone happy and my mind occupied keep me out of trouble, plus the laundry gets done.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Oh a Big Screen! You are one very blessed guy. We’re more of “what not to wear” and “cake boss” family here on TLC. And we’ve become fairly addicted to “the middles” on Wednesday nights. But I’ll still miss football.

  3. GMFO,

the middles is really a good show.

its just quirky enough to hit the funny bone. Brick just makes me laugh.

modern family isn’t bad, it has its moments.

don’t care for cougar town so I don’t watch it.

I thought that “hank” would do well but I guess I was the only one watching the night it was on.

My wife loves the cake boss and I have again found re runs of Home improvement.

and yes I will also miss football, until august.

  4. I have a lost feeling for the first few (ok, several) Sundays after football season ends. At least there are plenty of Law and Order marathons to distract me.

  5. Sherri,

I’ve never watched Law and Order, but I have the first season of the Paper Chase to watch on DVD. I loved that show.

  6. That takes us back a few years. Is that the one with John Houseman? Catching up on all the DVD’s I have meant to watch is a great idea, full season’s in a single Sunday, forget the rest of the world, family, house, bills………interrupted only by baseball when it starts.

  7. Sherri,

Oh yeah absolutely. I have a bunch of old Lone Rangers to watch as well. And some Beany and Cecil cartoons that are calling me too. I’m such a kid.

  8. Did you watch Saturday morning TV? Sky King, Roy Rogers, Rin Tin Tin? I did not realize that Paper Chase was available on DVD, guess I need to get out more often.

  9. Amazon and Google. Two of my favorite words. Amazon is where I always find stuff. Sky King! Oh yeah! Roy Rogers, absolutely, RinTinTin, not so much. We watched Lassie more than RinTinTin. I actually have a few episodes of Sky King on DVD. They put out the whole series a few years ago but it was a little pricey. Although I did take the plunge with the Man from U.N.C.L.E. boxed set.

  10. Guess I better get into an Amazon habit…..We must be very close to the same age. Every show you come up with was a favorite or brings back great memories. I loved U.N.C.L.E.! I think that’s what draws me to NCIS, David McCallum. Ok, Mark Harmon, too.
