You know the economy is bad when…

All of us by now are just a wee bit tired of bad economic news. How bad is it? Well, that’s where this idea came from. These are my favorite kinds of sports cartoons to do, ones that a large segment of people can relate to. Hopefully they go where every cartoonist dreams a good cartoon will go…the refrigerator, the office cubicle or break room or taped to someones cash register or the wall behind a deli. I once had some routine blood work done at one of those diagnostics places. When I sat down I faced an entire wall of my cartoon clippings. It was strange, to say the least, but it did make me feel like I was in good hands.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

Iis a sad state of affairs we find ourselves in, in America. Almost 60 years of unbridled prosperity, rising tide and most boats being lifted and then in a week it seemingly comes crashing down.

    How is that possible.

Did we all just quit at once. I am not over done on the credit. But the bank canceled my equity line and advised me to pay it off and not ask for more money.

gong to a game, hey the Royals won last night behind Greinke, is still a joy that I look forward to.

I still, and always have, sit in the cheap seats but its a blast, economy be damned. I will go to a ball game this year, either in KC or Denver. Heck maybe both.

Better move along. Strive for excellence Nothing but your best.

    Gene

  2. Drew,

I know this is a cartoon but if you chip in an extra dollar you can buy a ticket in the Rockpile and watch the whole game. (or what ever you can see Ha!) Actual the rockpile is not that bad if you just want a lazy afternoon with a baseball game in the background. Also the spirit out there is unbeatable, even if some of it is beer induced.

$4.00 ticket $6.50 beer that makes since to me.

And I believe that you jinxed the Rocko’s last night with the cartoon yesterday. But don’t worry the wheels don’t fall of the bus until the end of the season here in Denver.

  3. Gene,

Sorry to hear about your circumstances. The things that banks and credit card companies are doing to their customers during this downturn is just nothing short of criminal. But as I always say, what goes around comes around. When the economy bounces back there are going to be a lot of credit lenders begging more than a few people to give them another chance.

Hang in there. Keep the Faith.

  4. Drew,

I live and work out in the DC area and I am one of those people who take your drawings and hang them up in my workspace. Some of my co-workers get a kick out of your drawings out here.
