  1. Dear Drew,

Here is an interesting comparison for you. So far the Chicago Black Hawks are playing like vultures while our Denver Nuggets are playing more like Beaky Buzzard (Looney Toon’s Character for those who don’t know who I’m referring too.)

    All the best

  2. Good Morning from Omaha,

lets see… the blackhawks won the stanley cup last year and now they are back for more…. they went years with out winning and now they want to keep that award in chicago? now they are just getting greedy! why not let some other team like the teams from phoenix or florida or even southern california. those are all places with a long tradition of hockey, I mean as the teams migrated to the north to places in north america like new york, minnesota, pennsylvania and even canada these teams from areas with average highs in the 60-70’s in the winter were soon forgotten.

If it weren’t for technology advances in air conditioning and refrigeration they would still be waiting for the ponds to ice over and would NOT be playing hockey in April, May or June. Its just silly in my little mind. The key work is little.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  3. Riveted to the NHL playoffs, and stunned at the ChiHawks’ comeback. The postseason has been chock-full of great stories, but this is by far the best of the lot. And the way Luongo has been looking in net for Vancouver the last few games (and with the backup now wounded), I like Chicago’s chances to knock out the President’s Trophy winners.

And hockey in the Sun Belt has been mixed (Atlanta needs to move/fold, and Phoenix were Wards of the State long before the Dodgers made it cool), but Carolina and Nashville have good, passionate followings, Dallas and San Jose have made their teams a vital part of their local scene, and Los Angeles is well-established in the league. If you want to deny them hockey teams because ice doesn’t naturally freeze there, then you need to take the NFL out of Denver and Phoenix, where green grass needs some substansial help to grow.

  4. GMFO-

they should take the NFL out of KC because they have to paint the field after halloween ..football was meant to be played in the dirt…it was just a comment on the improvement in our ability to make ice….
