Floyd Little: Running Through Walls

Excellence. Class. Dignity. Integrity. Finesse. Brilliance. Greatness. Pick a word. Because any of them can be used to describe the great Floyd Little. His Hall of Fame speech was amazing. His career with the Broncos even more so. And finally Canton has realized that the Broncos are more than John Elway. Next. Calling Randy Gradishar anyone? No matter what the Broncos do for the rest of 2010 season Broncos fans can rest assured, they have already experienced a terrific year. Here’s to number 44. May those Broncos who come behind remember the trail he has blazed. And the walls he has knocked down.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

Congratulations to Floyd Little and the Bronco’s- you are right, his speech was amazing, such a good and gracious man and an example to us all when it comes to role models. He was not out there craving the spotlight he is living his life as an example of what to do when the twist and turns of it get to you.

    Way to go Floyd!!!

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Great Toon Drew – Wasn’t that just wonderful to see Floyd Little up on that stage this weekend. Now we just need to see Randy Gradishar, Louis Wright, Steve Sewell, Dennis Smith and Shannon Sharpe and than the Broncos will truly be representatived at Canton. I love the fact that John Elway was the first Bronco to be placed in the Hall of Fame but without all the players that had played before “The Elway Years” there would of been no Denver Broncos. So let hope we can get a few of these guys in – The all deserve it. I would also love to see Rod Smith up there as well.

    Have a good week Drew

  3. Did anyone read the Sports Illustrated article? Ok, so it made me cry. I watched Floyd, but as a not stat conscious person, I never really grasped his accomplishments, just loved to watch him run. And sometimes he was the only good thing about a game. Now being aware of his stats cannot understand what took so long to get him in. Congratulations, Floyd!

  4. Dear Mr. Litton,

Of the two drawings you did on Floyd Little this one is the more symbolic (though the other one is special too).

As I once wrote you, throughout Floyd Little’s playing career he claimed that on each play he would run it like it would be the last time he would ever play. This cartoon to a degree symbolizes the type of player he was.

Thank you for this great cartoon.

    All the best

    Louis
