  1. What the heck? The season still isn’t over? Feels like we are due to start the 2011 NBA season any day now. Ugh. Wake me for the championship series…

  2. Dear Drew,

Years ago you had a cartoon that summed up the NBA playoffs perfectly. The scene was a classroom. A teacher asked,”What event lasted 40 days and 40 nights.” (With the answer I’m assuming being the Noah’s Ark rainstorm). However a kid who raised his hand answered,” The NBA Playoffs?”

Many can rightly claim that too many teams are allowed to compete in the NBA postseason. However without so many teams being allowed in (and many 1st round games being sweeps) we wouldn’t have had moments like the year the Denver Nuggets led by Mutumbo (forgive me if I mispelled the name) defeated the Seattle Supersonic’s and then threw a major scare into the Utah Jazz before finally losing.

This season to me the big moment will come if/when the Miami Heat get’s eliminated from the playoffs. I’ve been wanting this ever since the Labron, Wade, Bosh hype started this season Should that happen I’ll be like Eric Cartman from South Park going,” Na, na, na, na, na, na.”

    All the best

  3. Good Morning from Omaha,

I really think the NBA season is way to long and that includes the playoffs. Its not that I watch the NBA but when I catch the highlights it seems they start in November and run until mid june. that and the baseball season that could potentially last until november.

I suppose I am not a big fan of the NBA and yes I am old. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, Michael and the Bulls tearing there way through the league….I guess its a generational thing but the class those guys carried themselves with, before Rodman went nuts, I guess that time is long gone, never to be replaced.

No they weren’t all saints, all the time but this generation of flashin cash and smokin’ their stash, I just shake my head and wonder where things left the rails.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

    Gene
