The 24 second clock

Uncategorized

My favorite cartoons to do are ones like this that deal with sports in our culture and how it effects our families. These usually aren’t necessarily readers favorites. They don’t have the same emotional impact as, say, Broncos cartoons do. But they still resonate and the Syndicate likes them. Any way I hope you enjoy this one. I’m a bit pooped from all of the March Madness, Opening Day hoopla. I might sneak in a day away from the blog sometime soon. Not sure though. It depends on my workload. The first week of the month is always so busy.

Hey, I wanted to know how you guys liked the video stuff I put up last week. Should I do more of that, or do you just like to take in the cartoons? Just asking. Always want to know what’s on your mind.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

I am sorry about being late getting in yesterday. Things happen and life is full of surprises. Love the cartoon and really enjoyed the video stuff last week.

Sometimes it not just a 24 second clock… I tend to suffer from the 3 things that happen to males as they grow older…Male pattern baldness which is no big deal, male pattern vision..IF i am looking for something.I can look right at it and still not see it and male pattern hearing loss, sometimes my wife’s voice makes my ears go numb and soon I don’t hear a thing she says (or I just quit listening). I am working on that last one because some day I will want to hear her voice and she may not be around to brighten my day….with luck she won’t depart this mortal coil anytime soon.

the KC Slayor have won 4 in a row and are on top in the AL central. Its April but for now it counts!

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Love the cartoon, Drew. For me, as a non-betrothed sports fan, the 24-second clock simply gives me a chance to breathe. There is so much going on at one time in the world of sports; and while that world isn’t completely without activity, it is nice to have a few days away from the hoopla. None of “my teams” are making much, if any, noise right now, and I’m enjoying the break. I hope you are, too – or, at best, will enjoy your break when that time comes.

  3. Dear Drew,

Sorry I haven’t written lately. Had a surgury on my left wrist. Still hurts to type but by doing this I hope to get my flexability back.I’m out of commission for work for the rest of the week. Shame, because while my job has its share of frustration on the whole I really do enjoy what I do.

This cartoon reminds me of the saying,”Out of the mouth of babes oft times comes jems.” Maybe that is the appeal to this style of cartoon.

To Gene from Omaha. I’ve been wanting to ask you. What did you think of this years Wrestlemania?

    All the best,

    Louis

  4. Love these cartoons. Love the videos. Thanks for doing what you do. Your toons put a smile on my face each day and always seem to resonate with my life. I stole “TGIOD” and used it as my status on facebook last friday… sorry bout that.

  5. Drew,

I lost hours of work time after watching the videos, looking for more of the same (and finding it). My wife had me You-Tubing Carlin for hours. The cartoons led to more cartoons, which led to the Muppets and even Fraggle Rock.

    Please do post some more.

  6. Drew–

Loved both the cartoons and the vids. Please post more!

To Gene: I got a big laugh from your phrases “male pattern vision” and “male pattern hearing”. My husband has moments of both. It’s a guy thing, I guess…

  7. Louis,

I thought overall it was very well done…the michael cole match was satisfying until the “anonymous” general manager changed the ending…that was pure bs and not the usual bs that comes with rasslin’. the undertaker and HHH match was great…they stole the show but the Miz and cena match was a major disappointment. and you just knew the rock was going to “lay the smack down” on both of them. orton and cm punk was a good match…although the report was the script had been edited to the bare bones because they needed to get snookie in and the rock ran way to long at the beginning. and sheamus and that other guys match was eliminated completely. I have seen better pay for views but hey it is what it is- a show and entertainment.

Hope your wrist recovers soon. was it carpal tunnel. My wife has broken both her wrist at one time or another and have helped her our. You don’t realize just how often you use your hands until one is taken out of commission.

    take care and get well.

    Gene

  8. Louis, I do hope you are healing well. Don’t push it. Let that wrist rest. I love the fact that you guys are carrying on conversations like this amongst yourselves. That is so awesome.
