The Annual Off with Their Heads Event!

Uncategorized

Oh My Gosh. Does it ever feel good to breathe. Just one work day into the New Year and it feels so great to not have a pressing animation deadline hoovering over my head. Don’t get me wrong, I loved doing them, and hope to get the chance to do some more in the months ahead, but the deadlines and the 60+ hours it took for two minutes of weekly animation were were pretty rough. I’m going to enjoy this gap in the schedule to create some new things and venture out of my comfort zone a bit. Don’t worry. I’ll still be drawing my usual sports cartoons right here. But I might be cooking something up in another kitchen somewhere else in cyberspace. I’ll let you know when that happens.

  1. Good Morning from Omaha,

The money is too big too lose in the NFL, You don’t get a chance to build much in the NFL if you don’t win. It used to be what have you done for me lately- in the NFL that is not the case. You better win and do it in less than a four or five year plan- or at least get better every year or you are gone.

The coaches can only do so much with what they have to work with even with the draft picks. There are a lot of misses in the draft that cost coaches their jobs. It the world we live in, today.

Those new ventures sound like fun. I hope you can make a go of it for yourself and your family.

Strive for excellence, nothing but your best.

  2. Players are “cut”, coaches/managers are “fired”.

Face it, unless you own the team it’s not a worker friendly environment.

But the participants do it willingly even when they have to deal with people like Al Davis. 🙂

  3. Drew,

I had no idea those animations took 60+ hours to draw. Wow, no wonder you are exhausted. Enjoy the time and the opportunity to stretch your wings.

It may be time to hire some help for Litton Studios… I hear Josh McDaniels is still looking for work. Even though he did well with a Cassel, I am not sure how safe it would be to trust him bow with anything more than a dull eraser.

  4. Al Davis fired Tom Cable, even though Cable got the Raiders to 8-8. Apparently, mob boss Al wants the spotlight on himself and himself only. Another reason why Al Davis must go down….and stay down.
